Maths in 3B!

This week in Maths, we have been investigating word problems and identifying which operation would be best used to solve the problem.

We made some vocabulary pyramids to help us to look for key words in the word problems to know which operation to use when solving the problem.

In class we are learning about the addition and subtraction strategies that can help us to solve word problems that involve these 2 operations.

Here’s a problem for you to try at home:

Jenny just started working at a French restaurant. Last week, washed 194 small glasses and 657 large glasses. How many glasses did she polish?

What answer did you get?

How did you solve it?

Which operation did you used?

What strategy helped you?
